The Kilifi County Assembly has adopted a Motion that seeks to compel the county government to protect elderly people accused of witchcraft.The Motion sponsored by Deputy Speaker Teddy Mwambire urges county authorities to ensure witchcraft victims are given full protection.He claimed the victims have been receiving death threats.Mwambire said every Kilifi resident has the right to protection against ill-treatment.The Motion's introduction comes two years after unknown gunmen killed a suspected witch doctor in Rabai.The motive of the assailants, to date, has not been established.Aged men in Kilifi allegedly associated with witchcraft have in the recent past been killed under unclear circumstances.
