Nyamira County MCAs on Tuesday afternoon approved the tabled name of Edward Vincent Ondigi as the chief officer of the Agriculture , Livestock and Fisheries Ministry.
The nominee, whose name wa read to the assembly for approval by the chairman of the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries committee (Boniface Omburi), was unanimously approved by the MCAs.
Speaking while discussing for the approval, Itibo Ward MCA Samuel Nyanchama said Ondigi best deserved the seat because of his integrity and brilliance.
"Mr speaker sir, I also support Ondigi for the chief officer seat. He is bright and has high integrity that the county deserves in developing economically," he said.
Ken Nyanchama, Gesima ward MCA also supported the nomination in brief words.
"Mr speaker sir I also support Mr. Ondigi for the position in the government. He has served the government for long and it is high time he serves as the Chief Officer," said Nyanchama.
Edward Vincent Ondigi is a Master of Arts (project planning, design and Management) holder from University of Nairobi, Bsc.(Animal production) holder from Egerton University, has been an Accounting Officer (department of Agriculture,livestock and Fisheries) Nyamira County, and has been county director of Livestock and fisheries Nyamira county, the chairman disclosed.
Ondigi has also worked as District Livestock and production officer-Nyamira District and Nyanza province, and has also worked as Provincial data management and bee keeping officer(Rift Valley), according to the report read to the house by the Chairman.
