Nakuru County MCAs have approved the Nuisance Bill 2014.

According to nominated MCA Gillian Rotich, the bill will address noise pollution in the town and its environs.

"The bill will address cases where contractors leaving heaps of construction waste by the road after work is completed. This bill will deal with everything that is considered an eyesore by the residents of Nakuru County," Rotich said.

Speaking at the assembly, Rotich said that the bill was going to deal with all the people who loiter around gated estates and parking lots.

"This bill is going to restore order in Nakuru County and also we hope that through it we are going to attract more investors. If this bill is fully enacted, it is going to create a friendly environment for the investors,” said Rotich.

Mariashoni Ward MCA Jerotich Salimu said that the bill has come at the right time where nuisance in town needs to be controlled.

"The bill will help regulate the noise in town especially during this festive season. We need to approve it so that all those who will go against it will know the consequences of it," Jerotich said.

The bill is now awaiting the third reading before it is signed into law.
