Kiambu Members of County Assembly (MCAs) have been told to concentrate on developing their respective wards.
County assembly deputy speaker Anthony Macharia said that the main role of MCAs is to act as oversight of the county government and represent the people at the grassroot levels.
Macharia said that MCAs are the people who spend most of the time with locals and that they should focus on service delivery.
MCAs should focus on working for the people they represent at the grassroot levels,” he said.
The deputy speaker further cautioned MCAs and other leaders against wrangling saying that the image of the county is tarnished when leaders conflict.
He added that leaders in the county must learn to work together in order to spur development.
The MCA said that leaders in the county must embrace unity and support Governor William Kabogos’ development agenda.
Macharia stated that Kabogo represents the views and interests of Kiambu locals and that leaders must respect that.
He said that the assembly will continue to formulate laws that will promote empower the people and promote development.
