Speaking to the press at Kisumu Social Hall on Monday, Manyatta Youth Bunge chairman Benson Onoka said that most MCAs rely on funds from the County government for development of their wards.

Onoka said that it was necessary for the county legislators to be innovative and creative for their wards to be developed beyond their current status.

"The problem that we have with our elected MCAs is that most of them over rely on funds from the County government which might never be enough to fund all the projects in the wards. We need to ensure that Kisumu residents benefit from devolution fully through all spheres of life," said Onoka.

Speaking to Kisumu County Women Leadership Caucus County Administrator Olga Achieng', she said the MCAs should be able to network with foreign investors in their trips abroad.

Achieng' noted that the purpose of the numerous trips was for connection and benchmarking purposes.

She said that the move will ensure that bursary and funds for projects in wards are well financed.
