Nasieku said that most MCA's have won contracts through intimidation and that the governor fears them so much.

He claimed Governor Mbugua agrees to everything the MCAs want because they usually threaten to shoot down the county budget.

"The governor is succumbing to the pressure from the MCAs and they are the people calling the shots currently. Most of the projects you see being done by the county government is purely the work of MCA's because they are the ones who decide what will be done and what will not,"he said.

"They use threats to get what they want from the governor and this makes the governor Mbugua easily give in,"he added.

Nasieku accused the ward leaders of misleading the governor about the needs and issues affecting the people they represent.

However, Kiamaina MCA Samwel Kamau refuted the claims saying the Executive and the County Assembly are distinct levels and that MCAs have no powers to influence the Executive.

When contacted on the phone, Nakuru County secretary and Chief of Staff Joseph Motari laughed off the accusations saying Governor Mbugua is an independent person who can neither be influenced nor moved by both internal and external forces.

“I know the governor is not someone who can be influenced into making decisions and he is someone you cannot not blackmail and therefore those claims are juts funny. The county assembly is independent and the county executive is independent and none can influence the other,” said Motari.
