Wamaitha said that County Assembly Members have been the major target by the ill-minded people in the society and being without bodyguards make them vulnerable to possible attacks from thugs.

She alleged that most MCAs have been receiving threats from prominent people to an extent of trying to kill them.

This comes after Juja MCA Samuel Munene Gitau was allegedly kidnapped by unknown people on Saturday evening at around 8pm leaving the whole Kiambu County in great shock.

Gitau is said to have gone to Juja town to withdraw some cash in an ATM Machine on that evening only to be kidnapped and has never returned to his home till now causing discomfort to his family who reported the incident to police after a suspicious finding of his vehicle parked near his homestead with the lights on.

MCA Wamaitha last year fell a victim of the same after people who had been threatening to kill her stormed his homestead at night and burnt down to ashes four vehicles after asking for a certain amount of money which she refused to produce.

According to Wamaitha, MCAs should be highly guarded as their safety has proved to be threatened by some unknown kidnappers.

Wamaitha who was speaking during a press briefing in Thika town after the Juaj MCA’s incident was reported said that they will join hands as Kiambu County MCAs to ensure they are secure.
