Speaking on Monday in Eldoret town, the MCAs argued that Uasin Gishu is cosmopolitan and needs a non-Kalenjin as the Deputy Governor to reflect the face of the county.

“This is a cosmopolitan county and since we have almost all communities in this county we want that face to be reflected in the county’s leadership,” said Muya.

Similar calls made by the MCAs mid this year were rejected by Governor Mandago, who vowed to retain current Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno come 2017 general election.
