Bokeira ward representative Karen Atuya has raised concerns over the dwindling number of students at Matongo Boys High School.
Addressing journalists outside the Nyamira County assembly on Tuesday, Atuya sought a statement from the County Executive Member in charge of Education Jones Omwenga on why students have been leaving the school in recent years.
"Matongo High had been recording a high number admissions in past years but the trend at which students are transferring from the school is worrying and we need the Executive member in charge of Education to tell us what is causing all this," said Atuya.
He further urged parents to take counsel their children in an effort to curbing indiscipline cases.
"I think indiscipline may be the cause of the fires we have been experiencing in our schools," added Atuya.
