Uasin Gishu County Assembly has started debating on the speech that Governor Jackson Mandago made during the official opening of the assembly last Thursday.

While contributing to the debate, assembly's leader of majority Josphat Lowoi said the governor's speech laid down the agenda of his administration in the next five years and asked the MCAs to harmonise their plans to be in line with that of the county government.

"The governor has outlined what he intents to do to the people of Uasin Gishu and as an Assembly it will be good if we align our plans with the governor's vision for better service delivery to mwananchi and easy budgeting," noted the Karina Mibeki MCA on Wednesday.

On his part, Tembelio MCA Pius Kigen hailed governor Mandago's speech and welcomed his move to restructure his administration saying it will go along way towards bettering service delivery.

During his speech, Mandago said he had restructured some of the departments and introduced some that had not been in place previously to effectively coordinate various sectors and strengthen synergies among government departments.

"We need to work harmoniously with the executive arm of the county government so as to ensure all the projects the governor outlined in his address are actualized for the benefit of our people," noted Dr. Mary Baroswo, nominated MCA.

According to the county assembly standing orders, the governor's speech will be debated by the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in four sittings.
