Mandera Governor Ali Roba has been asked not to intimidate county workers who did not support his election bid during the August by Members of the county Assembly (MCAs).

According to The Star, the MCAs said that county boss has no mandate to frustrate the county staff because of their political stand.

In a letter, which was signed by 27 of the MCAs from the Economic Freedom Party, the leaders said that the employees are entitled to work with being threatened by the county government

Led by Takaba MCA Bishar Maalim, said that various departments especially health have continued to suffer because of continuous frustration of workers.

“It is unfortunate that civil servants are being intimidated just because of their political inclination in the August polls. Some of them have even been served letters," Maalim said as quoted by a local daily.

The lawmaker also said that they will not sit back and watch the employees being harassed because of having different political ideologies.

Abdi Hassan, the majority assembly leader, asked the government not to issue threats to the county staff.
