New Siaya MCAs will not stop their induction schedule in Mombasa so as to take part in NASA’s anti-IEBC demons.
This is according to Siaya Assembly speaker George Okode said.
Okode told off ODM national chairman John Mbadi on Friday and argued that no political party has the authority to dictate the affairs of Siaya county.
Their trip is being paid for by the National Democratic Insitute is paying for the trip.
Okode was reacting to remarks made by Mbadi which were published on Thursday directing that Okode cancels the training and allow the ward reps to join the countrywide protests.
He (Okode) however spoke to the media on Friday and said nobody would be allowed to cow them.
“Mbadi should know that no political party can dictate the affairs of the county assembly through the media,” he said.
He said prior to the trip, the assembly adjourned its business for three consecutive weeks to engage in the demos which, he said, were skipped by local elected MPs.
“We will not cancel the trip and we do not want anybody to lord it over us,” Okode said.
