Nine Muranga Members of the County Assembly were on Sunday barred from entering Sawera Lodge in Naivasha where a fundraiser for Kigumo lawmaker Jamleck Kamau was being held.
Reports indicate that Muranga Governor’s personal assistant was involved in the altercation.
According to Murang’a Deputy governor who attended the meeting, Gakure Monyo, the MCAs were indeed blocked, and that he is to release a press statement about the incident on Monday.
“The MCAs were denied access to the meeting, but I will call a press conference to state what happened,” Monyo disclosed in an interview with Citizen Tv.
The forum which was organized by Kamau also intended to review the county’s budget and deliberate on the implementation of projects.
Kamau and Governor Mwangi Wa Iria have been involved a bitter war of words since the former announced his interest in the Murang'a gubernatorial seat.
