Judge Dulu George dismissed the case by Dahiye filed in 2016 that sought to bar any county assembly committee from summoning or quizzing him.

Jarajilla MCA, Mahat Osman stated that the committee will meet soon.

“Whenever we initiate investigations on an individual on misappropriation of public funds they just rush to court seeking injunctions,” said Osman.

The MCA noted that the judiciary has become a big impediment in the MCAs’ oversight mandate.

On November 24 last year, Hajir filed the case against the assembly clerk and speaker who had summoned him to shed light on financial irregularities.

Dulu alleged that the petitioner and his counsel had failed to pursue the case.

“It is very apparent that this petition was filed intentionally to prevent the interrogations. It was not such a serious case or a cause that the petitioner really wanted to pursue,” the judge said.
