Nyamira County assembly representatives have urged Governor John Nyagarama to fight and ensure Keroka town which has been at the centre of controversy between Nyamira and Kisii Counties is retained.
Speaking during the official opening of the assembly's fourth sessions, Manga ward representative Peter Maroro said that Kisii County was taking the leniency of the residents too far up to an extent of snatching what was 'rightfully theirs'.
He said that they were not going to sit and watch as their territory is being invaded by their neighbours.
"Even if you are young and married, you can't just sit as your elder brother takes away your wife, you must fight for what's rightfully your by whatever means possible," said Maroro.
He claimed that Kisii County is with an intention of paralysing Nyamira economically as Keroka is its major town with highest revenue collections.
The town has of the recent past caused chaos and controversy over whose territory it lied. Two months ago, revenue collection officers from both Nyamira Kisii clashed, which saw chaos erupt.
The similar sentiments were highlighted by the majority leader and Nyamaiya ward representative Mr Laban Masira. He said that the house will ensure that the county's boundaries are marked and protected.
On his hand, Nyagarama called for sobriety among the residents as the matter was being addressed by higher authorities.
