The Uasin Gishu County Assembly has passed a motion urging the executive through the department of roads, transport, energy, and public works to prepare a schedule of the ongoing works and future works in the department.

While moving the motion on behalf of the leader of majority Josphat Lowoi,  Ng'enyilel ward representative David Sing’oei said: "this is in line that the maintenance of County roads which is a function of the County Government under the fourth schedule of the constitution."

“This schedule is important because it will curb unfairness and encourage fair distribution of service delivery to the residents,” noted Sing'oei while moving the motion, Thursday

While supporting the motion, chairman Budget and Appropriation Committee who is also the Kaptagat MCA Jonathan Ng'etich emphasized the importance of the schedule so that the roads can be managed and maintained within the scheduled and stipulated times.

“Uasin Gishu government should make road maintenance a regular activity to increase longevity and accessibility of our roads,” said Ng'etich.

Simat/Kapseret MCA Edwin Korir while supporting the motion pointed out on the importance of the schedule noting that "the public will be working from the point of information, while the engineers and workers will be working from a point of responsibility."
