Kisumu Members of County Assembly have declared they will continue with street protests and storm IEBC offices in the county on the 9th May to pressurise the commissioners to quit office.

They say they are going to lead by example and the residents of Kisumu should be ready to give them the necessary support in their quest see IEBC reconstituted before the 2017 poll.

This comes amid concerns from almost all quarters on the poll body’s integrity to conduct free and fair elections in future even as many fear the current commission is compromised and is no longer independent.

Nominated MCA Pamela Akinyi Odhiambo said that Monday is going to be the day of 'liberating' Kenya.

"Let everyone know that it is not going to be business as usual. The 'war' against IEBC has just begun and we will not tire until the chairman and his team leaves that office to those who are able to manage it," said the ODM politician.

Nyalenda B MCA Were Oyugi and his Migosi counterpart Achayo Ochieng agrees with Ms Akinyi.

The three leaders spoke on Friday in Kisumu.
