Kisii county Members of assembly have been urged to launch an investigation on how funds allocated in aid of the construction of Gusii stadium were spent before they allocate more money.
Led by the Kisii contractors association chairman Kennedy Mariera they have advised MCAs to do proper investigation before they allocate more funds since there is alleged misappropriation of funds for the first phase.
According to Mariera, nothing has been done by one of the contractors who was given the job since even the first phases per the allocations has been not completed.
“As the contractors association of this county we are unhappy about the way things are being done more so in this Project," said Mariera.
"The county allocated some money in aid of the construction but shockingly nothing has been done, we want to be told what went wrong and what has been done,” said Mariera.
“We have heard that there is motion in the county assembly that the project needs additional funds," he said.
"We would like the MCAs to first investigate how the initial allocation was spent before they allocate more money,” added Mariera.
They also accused the contractor who was given the project as they vowed to ask him on how he spent the money.
The construction of Gusii stadium started after the county government attained in power meaning that the construction has taken 4 years and is yet to be completed.
