Two Members of Kisii County Assembly have yet again tasked area Senator Chris Obure to reconsider reconciling with ODM party leader to avoid embarrassment in 2017 polls.
Obure who until his defection to Jubilee was Raila’s point man from the region has publicly admitted to having gubernatorial intentions where he will be wrestling with James Ongwae.
Albert Oino (Chitago –Borabu) and Evans Siko (Sameta) were on Saturday unanimous that Obure’s political mantle risked failing should he continue associating himself with Jubilee.
“I have much respect for him because he has been in this game for long. However, there comes a time when you see signs of rejection and ever since he started championing for Gusii unity, many people have dissociated with him,” said Siko.
“I see him losing from elective politics because ODM seems to be the party of choice in Gusii region. It would be a huge disappointment for him should he stand with Jubilee. Time has come for him to reconcile with Odinga to avoid being rejected in the ballot,” added Oino.
Obure recently defected to ruling coalition saying it would be the best way to ensure Gusii region gets a fair share from Jubilee but the two leaders dismissed his gubernatorial ambitions urging him to stick to his Senatorial post.
