A section of Members of County Assembly in Kisumu have asked the ODM leader Raila Odinga to dialogue with his Cord coalition co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula mid fears of a looming political fallout.
The MCAs have expressed their fears that any kind of fallout in the Cord coalition will diminish the chances of the former Prime Minister to clinch the presidency which has eluded him three times.
Kondele Ward MCA Gabriel Ochieng’ advised the former premier to keep all his key coalition partners if he is to make it to State House in 2017.
He said the immense support that Kalonzo has shown to him should not go unappreciated, even as he said the simmering disagreement between Raila and Kalonzo is something small which can be solved through dialogue.
He further warned that Odinga should not ditch Kalonzo for any other ‘compromised’ running mate in 2017.
‘Let the former Prime Minister and Kalonzo solve the differences between them so that they can match to State House together come next year. Any kind of bickering will affect their political ambitions’, warned the ODM politician even as he allayed fears that break up is looming in Cord.
His sentiment was echoed by ODM nominated MCA Jane Atieno Omolo who said the disagreement that is starting to emerge between the coalition partners is not a good show for the Opposition which is determined to root out Jubilee from power come next year.
This comes barely a day after MPs allied to Kalonzo threatened to ditch Cord following Raila’s revelation that his MoU with Kalonzo which was signed in the run up to the 2013 poll is dead.
