A section of Kiambu County leaders have written to Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro asking him to declare the Kiambu Senatorial post vacant.
Led by Kiambu County Deputy Speaker Anthony Macharia and the majority leader in the assembly Chege Wanjiru, the MCAs say that the current occupant has failed them.
They accuse Senator Kimani Wamatangi of not attending any Kiambu assembly sittings to listen to the problems the county is facing.
The uproar comes hot on the heels of Wamatangi's recommendation that the county government be dissolved saying it has lost credibility in accounting for public funds.
"There is a seat reserved for the Senator in the assembly so that he can come and listen to our problems before taking them for debate at the Senate. But, he has never come," said Macharia.
Chege said: "Since we elected him, he has never stepped in the assembly. What issues does he take for debate in the senate if he does not engage us?"
The two were addressing a public gathering in Gitothua, on Sunday.
