President Uhuru Kenyatta's utterance on Monday in Mombasa during his trip of the Coast is continuing to elicit mix reactions from the county's political leadership.
While reopening the Mtongwe ferry, Uhuru who has been at loggerheads with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho vowed to 'teach Joho a lesson'.
However, the utterance has not been taken lightly by Mombasa Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) who are allied to the Orange Democratic Movement party.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, the 15 MCAs asked the President to clarify to the nation what he meant by his statement.
"We want clarification from the President because his statement has two meanings," Tononoka MCA Said Faraj said on Thursday.
According to the MCAs, it is not wise for politicians to engage in unhealthy political confrontations which may hurt democracy.
The concerns by the MCAs come just a day after Joho who is also the ODM deputy party leader claimed that his life is in danger owing to his political stand.
