Speaking in Borabu, Onsando said that the duty of the representatives was to make laws and to ensure that the county government was following the up the on the laws that have been put in place.

“It is so shameful that some MCAs want to get involved in the county tendering process which is clearly against the law. Their duty as MCAs is to make laws for the people they represent and make sure the laws are followed fully by the county government,” Onsando said.

She also said that it was shameful for ward representatives to fight for tenders with the people they represent.

Onsando called on the people of Nyamira and other counties to report the names of MCAs who were behaving in this manner so that they might be known and have steps taken against them.

“I have had complaints from people that some of our MCAs still go for the tenders and you have the right to stop them because they have their jobs. If you see them inform us and we shall take a step against them,” she said.
