The Uasin Gishu County Assembly has formed 20 committees to be in charge of issues surrounding various departments in the county.
The committees will also be mandated to generate business for the assembly.
Members of County Assembly have already voted for the chairpersons of the committees in which two MCAs who campaigned against governor Jackson Mandago - Huruma MCA Peter Chomba and his Langas counterpart Francis Muya - were locked out.
Chomba chaired the Trade and Industrialization Committee in the first county assembly while Muya was a Deputy Committee chairman.
The two, despite having being the Jubilee candidates decampaigned for Independent gubernatorial candidate Zedekiah Bundotich Buzeki.
Those elected to head various departments include Kamagut MCA Nicholas Lelei who will chair the Roads, Transport , Energy and Public Works Committee, Dr Hosea Some, Olare/Ainabkoi MCA for Health Services, Racecourse MCA Amos Kiptanui will be in charge of Lands and Housing committee, Joel Rugut, Kipsomba MCA for Agriculture and Sergoit's David Keitany who will be in charge of Trade and Industrialisation.
Nominated MCA Eileen Kandagor was elected to chair Devolution and Public Administration committee, Tulwet/Chuiyat MCA Julius Songok for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Kipkenyo's Hillary Ronoh will chair Environment and Water committee, Tembelio MCA Pius Kigen (Public Service Management) and Noah Kemboi, Moiben MCA (Education).
