A Nakuru-based political activist has said that some Members of the County Assembly are abetting corruption for operating other occupations to the expense of serving members of the public.
Speaking to HiviSasa.com in his office in Nakuru on Friday, Mr James Kaka who gunned for the Menengai Ward seat in Nakuru-East on a Narc-Kenya party said investigations have revealed that some MCA’s were holding other public posts and private engagements against the law.
He noted that some are involved in private businesses and do not care about public service that should include initiating development policies in the assembly and implementing development plans in their areas of jurisdiction.
Kaka said that the county assembly administration and the county government should investigate those MCAs engaged in other activities other from assembly duties and punish them.
“Members of the County Assembly involved in other activities apart from assembly work should be investigated and punished. They are misusing and abusing public resources and this is against the law,’’ said Kaka.
"I am ready to reveal some of the MCAs involved in other engagements outside the county assembly so that action is taken," he added.
