A Maendeleo Chap Chap party (MCC) agent has moved to court to sue a Deputy Returning Officer for Mavoko Constituency in the just concluded General Election for coercing her to surrender signed copies of Mavoko’s form 34A.
According to Winfred Mwenza Onesmus Kaloki, she received distressing calls from Mavoko Constituency Returning Officer, Chacha Mwita, and his deputy Mr Kaloki, pressuring her to hand over all the signed copies of the final tally.
The Deputy Returning Officer was interrogated by Criminal Investigation Department officers (CID).
He was later transferred to Machakos town, where he was further grilled by a multi-agency team led by the County Criminal Investigation Officers.
“I want to confirm to you that we have the suspect, Onesmus Kaloki, who was arrested yesterday in Mlolongo by CID officers after a complaint was launched by agents of Maendeleo Chap Chap Party,” County Criminal Investigations Officer (CCIO), Jonah Kirui said.
