It is with no doubt that McDonald Mariga is one of Kenya’s best football icons having made it in different football camps in Europe.
Born on April 4th, 1987, Mariga is the first Kenyan to win the most coveted trophy; UEFA Champions League under Italian giants Internazionale Milano (Inter Milan), this glory makes him among Africa’s best football talent.
He was also the first Kenyan to play in the Spanish top flight League La Liga and also in the Italian top flight Serie A under Parma before moving to Inter Milan under the management of the current Manchester United Manager, Jose Mourinho.
Currently, Mariga plies for the Spanish side, Oviedo. Mariga is also the elder brother of Tottenham Hotspur Midfielder and Kenyan National team Captain Victor Mugubi Wanyama.
So on his birthday, several celebrities and other Harambee Stars footballers showed their love for and wished him a happy birthday.
Among them include Michael Olunga who plays for Girona Fc in the Spanish La Liga and also Gospel artist Daddy Owen.
“Happy birthday Mariga, you are great… you motivate and inspire many! May God continue expanding your territories,” Daddy Owen said in an Instagram post.
