The celebrated reggae music icon Freddie McGregor is expected to grace the 2nd edition of the Jamhuri Reggae Festival at the KICC grounds on Saturday in Nairobi. The Jamaican star jetted into the country on Tuesday night ahead of his concert.
The music star is known for hits like Big Ship, Just Don’t Want To Be Lonely, Bangalang and I Was Born A Winner, among other trucks.The musician is in the company of other reggae stars; Culture ft. Kenyatta Hill
Freddie spent better part of Saturday in various media stations among them being CitizenTV show 'One Love' and K24 'Riddimvbyz' reggae show.
The music awarding winning star had inspiration message to the unemployed Kenyan youths.
In an interview the K24 TV 'Riddim Vybz' host MC Fullstop, the star encouraged Kenyan youths to invest in agriculture so as to feed the nation."I want to encourage the youth to farm because when you farm you will be able to feed your family and the nation," the musician said.The icon is hosted by Cornerstone Entertainment.
Last year reggae fans were frustrated following the cancellation of Jamhuri Reggaefestival set for December due to political tension.The promoter is happy to announce new dates and get the fans ready for the same concert.
