Media Council of Kenya (MCK) deputy CEO Victor Bwire on Wednesday said the electoral agency must rise above the pressure they are currently facing and oversee a transparent electoral process if the country is to be saved from self destruction."All these messages of 'lets keep the peace' may only be realized if the Iebc ensures a fair and transparent election despite the mounting pressure. They hold the key to the country's tranquility," he said.Bwire also asked the political class to give the Iebc ample time to prepare the country for the August 8 polls saying their sustained attacks on the poll body could jeorpadize the process. He was speaking during a breakfast show on KTN News. The Iebc has lately found itself on the receiving end of a political class which accuse it of favouritism and a myriad of court cases that seem to jeorpadize its preparedness for the polls.
