Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has accused the media of exaggerating rebellion in ODM.
The Orange party has witnessed high profile defections with the most recent being the resignation of Ababu Namwamba as its secretary general.
On Thursday, Bosire insisted that the party was intact, but accused the media of giving ‘unnecessary’ headlines that cause confusions.
“I have much respect for the media but sometimes I feel that they exaggerate the rebellion in our party. The ODM remains intact despite a few members who are too gullible to be poached by Jubilee,” he said.
“They give unnecessary headlines that are likely to cause confusion when in the real sense, everything is under control. This isn’t right and objective reporting should take centre stage,” he added.
Bosire questioned the media’s coverage of a few Gusii leaders who met President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on Thursday and later on generalised a press conference where they announced defection from the Opposition to Jubilee.
“For instance, some of the legislators have been working with the government all along and after the meeting the President then the media reports that that was a blow to ODM. We must regulate our reporting,” he added.
