The Kenyan media has been accused of fuelling the fire concerning the issue of the secretary general position in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
The post has been opened ever since it was declared vacant after Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba resigned.
Top legislators in the party have already begun vying for the position and the Homa Bay women representative, Gladys Wanga has not been left.
"I remain forever thankful to the voters and the party for the opportunity. But it is also my belief that I do not need positions to serve the party," she said.
Wanga urged the media to focus on the party and what it had to offer instead of giving out wrong information to the public.
"We must ignore distractions created by media that are openly fighting the party and our party leader Raila Odinga. As a party, we have enough enemies and many battles to fight. Let’s not invent more," Wanga said.
Wanga pointed out that there is need to focus on the growth of ODM and help Cord leader, Raila Odinga become the next president of Kenya in 2017.
