The chairman of Gospel Ministers Bishop Wilson Kurui has called upon the media to give blackout to hatemongers.

He said inciting remarks might spark violence before the fresh presidential election. "Why should you give coverage to politicians propagating hate speech? Such leaders should be given total blackout by all media houses since they are agents of war," he said in Eldoret town, Monday."Why should they be the lead stories in our print and broadcast media houses instead of having news stories that embrace peace and development," he added. He, however, urged youths to refrain from engaging in the spread of hate messages on social media platforms instead use it in spreading peace messages."Youths should be at the forefront in cleaning the hatred portrayed on social media instead of being part of it. Social media users should shun hatemongers," noted Kurui.

He called upon police to arrest and charge politicians uttering inciting statements.
