The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board will on Thursday meet the Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki as well as the Kenyatta National Hospital Board to solve the ongoing standoff in the health facility.
Below is the full statement from KMPDB chairman George Magoha issued on Wednesday on the planned meeting.
"In view of the ongoing standoff at the Kenyatta National Hospital, the KenyaMedical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB) which is mandated underCap 253 Laws of Kenya to regulate the practice of medicine, dentistry and healthinstitutions, has requested to meet with the Cabinet Secretary of Health, Ms.Sicily Kariuki as well as the Kenyatta National Hospital Board, tomorrowmorning Thursday 8th March 2018.
This meeting if allowed will urgently address the pertinent issues that faceKenyatta National Hospital, including but not limited to the mix up in relation tothe recent brain surgery.
We shall also address any misunderstanding between the Medical Registrars andthe management of Kenyatta National Hospital with a view of resumingnormalcy of services in the shortest time possible.
