Medical students from various institutions took to Nairobi streets, protesting in solidarity with the striking doctors, Thursday.
The students marched from the CBD to the Ministry of Health headquarters at Afya House, and demanded to talk to Health Cabinet Secretary Dr Cleopa Mailu.
"We want him to act and end the salaries stalemate with doctors. If doctors' strike is still on for the second month now, how sure are we that the government will take care of us when we become doctors after our studies?'' wondered one of the student.
They said they would not attend classes if a solution is not reached to end the strike.
This follows continues talks between the striking doctors' officials with Ministry and County government officials to find solution over the strike which kicked off December 5, 2016.
Through the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU), doctors want a 300 per cent salary hike.
