Dubbed ‘telehealth’ or ‘e-health’, the Centre allows patients in remote locations to access medical expertise quickly, efficiently and without having to travel to health facilities for medical services.

The project is aimed at providing more efficient use of limited expert resources to check on patients in multiple locations and treat them from the comfort of their homes.

“The goal of the Kiambu County Department of Health Services is to raise the county’s ratio of patients to health workers to that of the international levels in terms of medicine and quality of facilities and health care service,” Kiambu Governor, William Kabogo said.

Kabogo added that it is the role of his government to step up efforts in actualising all the pillars under health as contained in the strategic plan.
