As the race to replace incumbent IEBC chairman Issac Hassan gathers momentum a shortlist of 13 candidates is out.

Here is the full list of shortlisted for the Chairperson of the IEBC.

Among the list of 13 candidates is the little unkown 26-year-old Kenyatta University graduate Vincent Opar. 

Opar who hails from Kendu Bay was born on 10th February 1990. A first born to a family of three, Opar went to Ongalo primary and later joined Oriwo Boys High school, before rejoining Onjiko Boys  high school. 

Opar excelled and later joine Kenyatta University to pursue Bachelors of Science degree in Statistics and programming.

Opar is currently the CEO of Dama Soft Limited, a company he founded for the youth. He partners with Writers Guild.

The young man see himself as the answer to integrity issues in Kenya's election scene.

"The country is polarised with integrity issues and that the solution to this is by the people electing good leaders into office," Opar told 254news.

“Free and fair election has always been the dream of Kenyans. I want to give them the credible election they have always desired," he added.

Opar's agenda for the IEBC and what Kenyans should expect is reforms and review in the counting mechanism.

“I will implement electoral reforms and review the voting duration and counting mechanisms. That is my new dimension that I will seek to employ.”

He added that: “Any tribal outfit slotting a presidential candidate should also be barred.”

“Uniting Kenyans through their voice is my score card”, he concluded.
