He is a bishop at the Mumias Diocese and will seek for election on an Amani National Congress (ANC) ticket.

The man of God will be battling it out with current MP David Were in the 2017 general elections.

Others in the hot race are Were who will use Jubilee Party to defend his post after dissolution of New Ford Kenya, Paul Posho who is the ODM constituency chairperson, Peter Nabulindo and Rodgers Okumu.

The white collared man will have to work extra hard to unseat the longest serving member of parliament in Kakamega county.

Were has been in Parliament since 2002.

Salala said: “We must work with politicians regardless of party affiliations for the sake of the people. I have joined ANC as a life member. I am engaging various stakeholders on the ground, seeking their advice before I embark on the race.”
