Alan Donovan is a lover of African culture and he does not tire to take whoever is interested in African culture through his collection of culture and art at his African heritage house in Mlolongo, Machakos county.
When I visited him on Sunday May 1, I found him talking to a group of artists about the importance of preserving the rich African culture and his story as a collector of African culture.
He took us through his rich collection of artifacts, sculpts, drawings, paintings, jewelleries, beads, books, mats, spears, clothes, necklaces etc.
Alan Donovan arrived in Africa in July 4, 1967 and in Kenya in 1969.
He was fascinated by the Turkana culture that he sold his bus and bought their materials of art and culture.
