Born 22 years ago, Valmy Brooke is the reason why Karaoke enthusiasts and revellers find their way to club signature every Tuesday night in large numbers.
The sassy lass, born and bred in Eldoret is super passionate about music that she started her own YouTube channel where she does covers and blends to popular songs, the results can only be summed up in one word ‘awesomeness’.
“I’ve been singing since I was very young. When I was around six years old, I used to sing Christmas carols in church, and I remember also my grandma used to insist that I sing for her guests haha! That wonderful woman believed in me so much and saw in me what I couldn’t realize then; I’m so grateful for it now that I am fully grown” stated Brooke during an interview with Eldoretleo, as she revealed the genesis of her love for the mic while stressing the instrumental role her grandmother has played in musical career.
She also attributes music to be the 'go to fix' that helps her get through every situation in life.
As to her main influencers in the craft, she credits both Vanessa Mdee and Rihanna.
The singer who also doubles up as a salsa dancer, however, feels the Eldoret’s music scene needs a boost from stakeholders and the local authorities.
