Uhuru had his longest time of his life on Monday when a female MP refused to shake his hand.
The president had to withdraw his hand after Rehema Dida, who was among the women leaders lined up to welcome the Head of State, snubbed his handshake. Uhuru was on his nine-day tour in North Eastern.
Uhuru was in Garissa to campaign for his re-election on October 26 where several leaders had to address the residents.
Rehema was elected on Jubilee ticket and being a Muslim, she pulled back her hand to evade President Kenyatta's handshake. She, instead, opted to salute the head of state.
In Islam, a woman is not supposed to touch the hands of a man who is not her husband.
Another situation is if a woman is preparing for prayers where she is not supposed to come into contact with the opposite sex.
Rehema is the widow of Guracha Galgalo who died in 2005 after a plane crash. Galgalo was a minister in Kibaki's government.
