Daniel Kipkirui, a 26-year-old form two dropout has made his ends meet through his phone repairing shop based in Kesses.
Kipkirui dropped out of school in form two in 2010 after his father was sacked and he could no longer afford to pay the school fees.
It is at this point that he sold his quarter part of the land he had been given and secured a plot in Kesses trading centre where he built a shop though it didn't do well.
"The shop could not make much profit so I decided to go back home," Kipkirui said.
After spending several years at home, he learned how to repair phones from his close friend and in 2014, he become an expert to an extent that his services were being sought after by many locals.
"I learned how to repair phones from my friend and truly I made it, it was a good business and I decided to relocate to my plot in Kesses where I could earn more," he said.
In 2015, Kipkirui relocated to his plot in Kesses where he began doing his new job and being one of the best in the area, he is making good money.
"In a day I repair as low as ten phones and high as fifteen where I usually charge between Sh200 to Sh500 depending on the level of damage. When I do my calculations I make Sh2,000 to Sh3,000 daily," he happily revealed.
Kipkurui is now planning to expand his business and is now thinking of beginning to sell mobile phones, a venture he believes will earn him more money.
