He won the August 8 gubernatorial contest in what appeared to be an impossible feat, managing to upstage an incumbent.
Though prior to the August 8 elections he pledged his allegiance to Jubilee, the soft-spoken Governor Ali Bunow Korane has largely steered clear of politics, choosing instead to focus on developing Garissa County, a county grappling with many problems.
Unlike other governors who have maintained a high-profile, he has been missing in many of Jubilee's political functions and avoided wading into the Jubilee-NASA political stand-off.
Maintaining a low profile appears to be Governor Korane's cup of tea, something that comes naturally to him, affording him the opportunity to focus on what matters.
He campaigned on a platform of delivering for the residents of Garissa County, and given a million problems that require his attention, from insecurity to water, he doesn't have time for engaging in politics.
