Constable Irene Wanjiku from the General Service Unit (GSU) Training School emerged the best overall women officer at the Kenya National Police Service annual rifle shooting championships held at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit in Gilgil, Nakuru.

Wanjiku helped the GSU team to a massive 9851 points to successfully defend their National Police Service rifle championship.

Wanjiku attributed her success to regular training and discipline that saw her elevated to the rank of corporal while saying she hopes to represent the country in international competitions.

Corporal Rashfold Mutegi from the Anti-stock Theft unit emerged the best overall in the men’s category.
