On March 9, 2013 President elect Uhuru Kenyatta delivered an out-of-this-world victory speech at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, CUEA along Lang'ata road in Nairobi.
When words went round later that the speech was inked by a 22 year-old, many went on a google-search frenzy to know who the genius was.
Juliet Wang'ombe, now 25 years old, is a performing artist ,a poet(ess).She is also a speech-writer.
According to information available on her website juliewangombe.com, she got her literary skills from her mother. By the time she wrote the president's victory speech, she was only 22 and a student at United States International University, USIU.
As a poet, she has performed at UNDP's African Economic conference in Rwanda, as well as in many literary and corporate events in Kenya and across Africa.
Her writings are centred on such issues as justice, love, Christian faith, education, youth and gender-based violence. She is definitely an inspiration to many young and budding writers.
