Did you know Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichungwa did not have an opposer in the last general elections?
Here are some reasons why the MP was not opposed:
1. Education
The MP's dedication to improving education through bursaries and good use of CDF funds supported his re-election bid because he had increased the number of classrooms in schools across the constituency, ensuring better social amenities in public schools and transparent awarding of bursaries.
2. He is accessible
Ichung'wa meets his constituents every Monday at the NGCDF office located in Kikuyu town.
3. No one can rival his development scorecard yet
Elias Njuguna, a resident in Kikuyu said that "No one who has the interest of ousting him has the capacity to challenge him and that’s why he has no challenger,”.
The Alliance High School alumnus and the University of Nairobi graduate in the 11th Parliament served as the vice chair of the Public Investment Committee. He is now National Assembly's Budget and Appropriations Committee Chairman.
His oratory skills have also charmed many of his constituents. Further, the MP is one of Jubilee's fiercest defenders.
