Party primaries have left suprises in the faces of Kenyans after big guns in politics have fallen.

One such case of a small fish in a big pound has been Nandi Senator Stephen Sang who suprised many on Tuesday after he won the Jubilee Party ticket in Nandi gubernatorial race.

At 32-years-old, Sang could stand out to be the youngest governor in the country if he wins in the August 8th elections, now that Nandi is a perceived Jubilee stronghold, winning in primaries is considered a win in the main polls.

Many political pundit had written off, Sang sighting his age as his biggest undoing and believed Nandi people coud not entrust such a huge responsibilty to a 'political toddler' when they had a list of incumbent Governor Cleophas Lagat, former Minister Henry Kosgey and former Agriculture CS Felix Koskei to pick from.

However, against all odds, Sang won with over 68,000 votes, his closest rival Henry Kosgey garned over 36,000 votes.

It is also interesting to note that Sang declared his bid for the seat just four months ago, after than his rivals Koskei and Kosgey.

Sang, a lawyer by professions not new to pulling suprises in 2013, at a youthful age of 28, he became the youngest senator in Kenya.
