The ekegusii music industry is slowly vanishing due to the upcoming music genres but King Kid, a Kisii based popular Afro pop musician, has been one of the shining artist in Gusiiland.
King Kid whose real name is Brian Momanyi, has brought Kisii music industry into the limelight.
The artist who is a third year criminology student at Kisii university, has recorded various hits under 'Syn City Music label'.
His showcasing of the various beauty spots of Kisii town in his videos has attracted a lot of attention and views form the locals.
With his creativity in song writing and investing in video shooting, he has won several awards including the 2017 Gusii male artist of the year.
"My music is more of selling the aesthetic value Kisii county to the people of Kenya because am proud of my home county. I do Afro pop and ghipuka genre," King Kid said on Saturday.
The 'beautiful nana' hit singer has shared the performance stage with international artists including the Kenyan-Nigerian based musician Victoria Kimani during her previous tours in Kisii.
"The county government should invest in promoting its local musician for the growth of the county in the competitive world of entertainment," he said.
Kisii county government is yet to set aside funds to support the music industry in the county.
