A host of Kenya Premier League (KPL) teams have signed various players to strengthen squads ahead of 2018 KPL season kick off next month, but there’s one team that is yet make any signing.

Kericho based Zoo Kericho FC is yet to announce signing of new players in the current transfer window, despite the league kick off date drawing closer.

Despite having made no signings, the team’s head Coach Sammy Okoth believes he will have a competitive team to take part in the premier league.

“Our preparations are on course and regarding transfers, we have a policy here to promote local talents and to shop from the grassroots level. We have not brought in any new signings because we want to stick to this policy and also get these raw talents to integrate in the team,” the Coach is quoted by Soka.co.ke

“We want to give them this chance and break the belief that only the experienced players can do the job. I got this as part of the team’s history and as a coach I’m keen to ensure it grows because these players deserve that chance,” he said.

The coach led Zoo Kericho to a 12th place finish in the league last season.

The team’s midfield maestro Michael Madoya was recently named the 2017 KPL Most Valuable Player (MVP), Midfielder of the year, Fair Play player of the year and New Player of the year.

Zoo Kericho will open 2018 league campaign against Ulinzi Stars on February 3.
