24-year-old James Karihe Gathungu is Nairobi Governor candidate Miguna Miguna’s running mate.
Gathungu was a student leader at Laikipia University.
He was on Saturday unveiled by Miguna at a Nairobi Hotel.
The soft-spoken Bachelor of Science in Statistics holder said he had all it takes to be the city deputy governor.
“I am proud to run with a man who will be one of the great governors of this century, Miguna Miguna. Our faith that we can shape a better future is what the Nairobi dream is all about,” said Gathungu.
Miguna will vie as an independent candidate.
Speaking during the unveiling of his runningmate, Miguna said he wanted to inject youth blood into the city leadership.
“Kenyans have functioning brains. They can tell the difference a transformative leadership and one based on impunity. And we are not afraid of anybody. They can come with any money they have stolen and we will deal with them,” said Miguna.
