Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri has revealed that he never gave out handouts in the concluded general elections, saying that he has never given out any money to supporters in all the previous polls as well.

Speaking on Radio Jambo Tuesday evening, Ngunjiri went ahead to note that he never gives out any monetary assistance to his constituents, stating that he, however, offers all other sorts of services, in line with his mandate.

''I think I am the only politician who doesn't give money to people. Mimi sikupeana hata shilingi hamsini wakati wa elections (I never gave out even 50 shillings during the election period,'' revealed the lawmaker who noted that Kenyans are better-off with proper service delivery that handouts.

He also advised his counterparts in all elective positions to concentrate on service delivery and invest their effort on improving Kenyans' livelihoods through development, taking a swipe at a section of unnamed leaders whom he accused of under performance.

''Kenyans need leaders who can perform and deliver on their promises and not individuals who only make noise in political platforms and the media yet they have nothing to show for their stay in office,'' he added.

Ngunjiri belongs to the ruling Jubilee Party.
